Lemon Sorbet

This sorbet is really easy to make (especially because I had simple syrup in the fridge)! here is the recipe i used, it is from allrecipes (I love that site)- lemon sorbet.

You will notice in the pictures below that i garnished it with lemon peal. this is where it gets tricky. to make the peel to have to peel it off of a lemon, I did about 3 lemons I think (make sure it doesn't have any white part -called the pith- it is really bitter), then cut it into thin strips. but to make it loose its bitterness, you have to put in a pan, pour cold water over it, let it come to a boil, simmer for 1 minute, dump water out, then repeat 2 more times! After that you put the peels aside then in the pan you used before (it should be empty), mix water and sugar then let come to a boil, and after that simmer for one hour. Next you drain them and coat them with sugar. then you lay them on a cooling rack to dry ( i let them dry all night). for more exact measures, visit this recipe from whole foods.
